Submission + - DDoS Attacks Ramp Up In 2012 (techweekeurope.co.uk)

judgecorp writes: "Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks have become more heavyweight this year. Average throughput in June was 1.56Gbps — nearly double what it was in June 2011, according to figures from anti-DDoS vendor Arbor Networks. It looks like the number of big attacks is going up, but not the size of the largest attacks. Arbor says no attack this year has equalled the size of the biggest attack it saw in 2011 — nearly 101.4Gbps."
