+ - Is Joomla Severly Under-documented?->

Submitted by

jonathan_the_ninja writes "So I've been working as a programmer for a website using the Joomla Web CMS, and I have been positively shocked at the lack of relevant and useful documentation for the sorts of things I've been doing. Mostly, I've just been writing components for the system, which I eventually got the hang of with a bare-bones tutorial and by looking at the actual Joomla codebase. But I really feel like I should have been able to get information about the various global variables and all of the things you have to do to make a component actually work (values for the hidden HTML tags, etc>). The main Joomla site lacks a tutorial that explains this competently. I've even had access to the book, Building Websites with Joomla, which does a great job of describing site management tasks, but is still lacking when it comes to giving the information I need for making a component. Did I miss something? I love Joomla, but where's the documentation, folks?"
