+ - A Grass-Roots Replacement for the Shuttle

Submitted by johno.ie
johno.ie (102073) writes "The proposed Space Shuttle replacements, Ares I and Ares V, have been the subject of a lot of criticism. Superficially the designs attempt to reuse shuttle-based technology, but the differences are significant and will require a huge amount of redevelopment and testing. It seems a group of people within NASA are attempting to highlight the flaws in the design AND propose a simpler, cheaper, alternative system that uses existing STS components and launch infrastructure."
