The road now leads onward
As far as can be
Winding lanes
And hedgerows in threes
By purple mountains
And round every bend
All roads lead to you
There is no journey's end.

Here is my heart and I give it to you
Take me with you across this land
These are my dreams, so simple and few
Dreams we hold in the palm of our hands

Deep in the winter
Amidst falling snow
High in the air
Where the bells they all toll
And now all around me
I feel you still here
Such is the journey
No mystery to fear.

Here is my heart and I give it to you
Take me with you across this land
These are my dreams, so simple and few
Dreams we hold in the palm of our hands

The road now leads onward
And I know not where
I feel in my heart
That you will be there
Whenever a storm comes
Whatever our fears
The journey goes on
As your love ever nears

New Office

After four years and four months in one office, the development group is moving to the building next door. We seem to need more space; that would be a good thing. :-) I will miss my view of the pond, but the view from the new office is not too bad.

There have been quite a few changes in my life in the last four years. Most for the better. I am happy to be where I am today.

The movers are here, a bit early. Time to go...

I'm leaving a poem on the whiteboard for the next occupant. :-)

  • I'm going to be in the same office for 4 years now next month. My plan is to hang the first pictures this weekend;-)

As for the poem on the whiteboard, I think a trasure map could have been far more entertaining;-)

    • Funny, I think I worked for the same organization for four years once. I left them two years ago to work somewhere else, and now I'm back there again (in a different office)
      • This is my longest stint at any one job and it is by far the best I've had. *counting blessings* My first job was 3.5 years which, in hindsight, was 5 years too long. ;-)
        • My longest time at one job has been six years and three months. Four years seven months, four years five months, two years eleven months, nine months, and the current four years four months. This is the only place that I have stayed in one office for so
          • Wow. Well hopefully you'll have another 4 years in your current stead. And by way of an update, I now officially have "art" hanging on my office walls. It feels like I just gave my a job ring and said, "I do." ;-)
            • I took my art home in preparation for the move. :-) I had one painting (a watercolor), a lithograph, two prints (a Matisse and an Escher), and two photographs on the walls. I will not have quite as much wall space in the new office, though. There is one
  • We're moving sometime in July to the 15th floor of the UW Tower, that used to be the Safeco building, from our location next to Gas Works Park.

I think we've been here something like 14 years ... be nice to be near campus again.
  • Hey, congratulations. I wish I had a window for my office.... :-(
  • Leaving us dangling like that is inconceivable!
    • I do not think that word means what you think it means. :-)

It was Tolkien's "The road goes ever on and on..." from The Lord of the Rings. A bit geeky, but that goes with the territory. :-)
  • I'm leaving a poem on the whiteboard for the next occupant.

    I think that's a great idea :-) I hope they'll appreciate it.
