Moving the family to OSX however did. That was 3 years ago and there has not been a single tech support issue since then.

The question is whether this is because they have no problems, or because they're reluctant to call the person who inflicted OSX on them.

Maybe using different OS helps learning how to use them. I don't see much of a difference between OSX and Windows 7 UI. I switched to win7 from OSX a few years ago, so I can't really say about previous versions.

+ - Copyright Alert System to launch Monday->

Submitted by Anonymous Coward
An anonymous reader writes "Starting next week, most U.S. Internet users will be subject to a new copyright enforcement system that could force them to complete educational programs, and even slow their Internet speeds to a crawl.

A source with direct knowledge of the Copyright Alert System (CAS), who asked to not to be named, has told the Daily Dot that the five participating Internet service providers (ISPs) will start the controversial program Monday.

The ISPs—industry giants AT&T, Cablevision, Comcast, Time Warner, and Verizon—will launch their versions of the CAS on different days throughout the week. Comcast is expected to be the first, on Monday."

+ - Watch Adobe's CEO refuse to answer Australian pricing questions-> 1

Submitted by daria42
daria42 writes "If you live in Australia, you might have good reason to be annoyed at Adobe, considering that the company charges up to $1,400 more for its Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign etc) than it does in the US. However, in a press conference in Sydney this morning, the company's global CEO Shantanu Narayen flatly refused to directly answer any questions about the price differential, instead farcically pushing the message that Australians should pay for Creative Suite on a monthly basis instead ('Creative Cloud'). Steve Jobs' comments that Adobe has "turned out crap" as a company since founder John Warnock left might have been quite prescient."
