insufflate10mg writes "Scientists at the National Center for Atmospheric Research http://ncar.ucar.edu/home have released simulations showing how a strong/long gust of wind could have reduced the height of the Red Sea in a particular area and reveal a "bridge" type landmass. This story is just another stepping stone in the journey to explain many of the events described in religious scripture."

The footage from many surveillance cameras in the cities show a fireball seemingly larger than the city itself. Some are speculating it was a meteor, but the conspiracy theorists have dawned their tinfoil hats and feel the government will HAVE to explain this one!"

insufflate10mg writes "I'm having trouble putting into words the difference between 2D and 3D television. When I try to explain, the response is "Well I can see the sides of peoples faces on TV, it looks 3D," which is true, and I don't know how to explain it. When I try asking to describe the distance between a wall and someone's head, they make a rough estimate and are pretty close to correct. The best way I can explain it is the difference between looking at a screen with video playing and looking through a window at the scene. He understands the difference between monoscopic and stereoscopic vision, and the concept depth perception, but that doesn't help him truly visualize it. I would not be asking on Slashdot if I wasn't really having trouble so any assistance would be appreciated."
