indogiree (1883400) writes "This is so sad. I am from India and I am so ashamed of this. I think the culprit is on the left with the face of a goat.

"Moin was one of four children who worked at Kalimullah's bindi-manufacturing unit which operated out of two small rooms. The children worked 18 hours a day, seven days a week. If they said they were tired, they were attacked by a vengeful employer or managers, sometimes with hot iron rods."

"Engadget reports that India has just awarded the manufacturing contract to HCL Technologies. The first shipment will supposedly only contain the 7-inch model and is set to arrive on January 10. It's unclear if the $35 price has stuck or whether India's been successful in plans to eventually drive the price down to $10 with the help of large orders and government subsidies."
