Any system which needs you to install additional hardware sucks. We can very well use the system planes used before GPS was deployed. INS using compasses and gyroscopes. You just need everyone to have a compass and gyroscope in their pockets. Wait everyone with an iPhone4 or a NexusS already does. Wifi based GPS enhancements are the buggy whip manufacturers of our day. Even the best and most accurate will be going out of business.
Flip side is they do this to fresh graduate students all the time. Hire them and they get started on OPT and then when they start in June Oh sorry we missed the deadline for H1B and we will try to do something about it. The guy works like crazy for a year but at the end of the year he just goes back to his country as he is out of status as his OPT training period is over.
Its not just filling prisons. A lot of corporations use prison labor for manufacturing toys, license plates etc. Even some call centers are run from prisons. What makes this profitable is that prisoners dont have to be paid minimum wage so they are even competitive with Chinese labor costs. Next time someone tells you why not buy American when American goods are only a little more expensive than the Chinese goods be aware that the goods were probably manufactured by prisoners pushed into prison on such flimsy charges. So if you really like freedom buy Chinese.
Delhi and other places in the northern Indian plains regularly hit 45 in the shade so if you are out in a construction site it definitely hits 50. If you dont believe right now its March and its already 39 C. People function by wearing loose long sleeved clothes, hats and wrapping handkerchiefs soaked in water around the back of their necks but water would not be a good solution for a laptop.
Heat Sunks wont be very effective in a desert nvironment where the ambient air temp is hitting 50 C. Even an atom would need a fan in the desert
Brown's an ass. What kind of guy says that Turing is most famous for breaking Enigma codes. Turing is famous for his contribution to AI and most importantly the Turing test and the Turing award (Computer Science's Nobel prize equivalent) If Gordon Brown was paying tribute to Alfred Nobel he would probably forget to mention the Nobel prize and talk about how Nobel made his money selling dynamite to the Czar. As I said what an ass. Pity the brits that they have idiots for leaders (its not new started with Thatcher)
Well yes a war would be needed. Of course such a war will never happen unless the entire world gets disgusted with the US. Thats when they will all agree together so in order to prevent the rest of the world from coming to such a consensus some lip service to the environment is needed hence Kyoto.
