Just because I need a minimal amount of government doesn't mean you've established an argument for an over-arching modern nanny-state involved in every aspect of my life.
Just because I need cholesterol to live doesn't mean eating a Big Mac at every meal is a good idea.
You're assuming that all their money belongs to the taxpayer. It doesn't. It belongs to them in the first place.
Not to mention use cases the spec writer hasn't even thought of.
I didn't say every single person will try to spend as much as possible when they don't have to pay the bill. I said they aren't incentivized to control spending. That's true.

A plot to show people that libertarians are on to something.
Don't interrupt a good rant with facts and logic.
That's important to keep in mind and I agree. But it still stinks for the people who have trouble making the adjustment.
This is known as the old "Firefighters First" trick.
You could lay off your cousin who does nothing. Or you could close the fire department. Close the fire department and ask taxes to be raised.
Also known as the "Washington Monument" ploy.
