This is politicians in general. Just about anytime someone says "blah blah (democrats/republicans) blah blah" it can be applied both ways. Partisan politics are stupid, imo.

You know what, even if man made global warming is real, the estimates that i've seen are a 1 degree rise in temperature and sea level rising a foot, over a century. And the only acceptable reaction, less you be labeled a denier is "LET"S DRASTICALLY ALTER OUR WAY OF LIFE AND BASICALLY FORGO MODERN LIFE AS WE KNOW IT". Have fun explaining that to someone when they can't get their medicine on time, because that diesel truck was causing too much pollution. Or countless other scenarios that are helped because of oil.

I'm a software engineer with 0 background in anything electrical. I've always want to tinker with stuff, and I had no clue places like this existed. I looked online for tutorials and such and never came across these things.

As a developer my OP was more of a joke about my dislike of the arrogance of developers in general. and what seems to be all to often the talking down to the testers.

telling the developer he's right about everything and the product is never broken, or the tester will get a tongue lashing.

Everything is better in europe.

Their healthcare, their food, their government, their women, their cars, their tv, their bathrooms, their internet.

In the last year, we have a democrat president who thinks it's perfectly fine to assassinate american citizens abroad and who signed the shitty NDAA that says americans can be held indefinitely, which was pushed by republicans.

Yep because microsoft, yahoo, google .. ect are all from government research. While you can claim that some things are based on government research, the fact is the internet would not exist today without the free market.

the market is far from perfect, it is superior, because you would not have teh above, whom have provided you with so many services and products. and that's ignoring more basic human needs.
