everphilski (877346) writes "The International Herald-Tribune reports that Microsoft wins industry standard status for Office. From the article: ECMA International, a group of makers of both hardware and software based in Geneva that includes Microsoft, designated the Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats of Microsoft's Office Open XML as official industry standards. IBM was the only member of the 21-member group to dissent from the decision."
