Nothing can beat Microsoft at the desktop simply because the mindset of how to use a PC means Windows. You can cheer about how you install it on grandma's but for every installation, there are other 10 new shinny Windows 7 installations being sold. Linux desktop is a fun dream to toy around with just like those who tweak their cars...

Sadly the only "Unix" challenge to a Windows desktop is the MacOS.

bah... POS! Message ID: 1512 Silverlight installation failed because upgrading Silverlight for Developers requires the latest Silverlight for Developers installer. If you are not a developer and want to avoid this error in the future, follow these steps: * Close your browser. * Uninstall Silverlight by following the Silverlight Uninstall Instructions. * Download and install the latest version of Silverlight.

Not necessarily, there is new stuff coming up from M$... - Rumor has it Outlook will have a heavy makeover. More social plugins and what not so that you stop going to social sites and stick to Outlook. :) - SharePoint + Silverlight... Web 2.0 ala Microsoft. :> But yeah nothing original..

Submission Really watching NNTP movies->

emailandthings writes: Long are the days when I had to wait for the entire NNTP download (brought to you by a special group of uploader freaks) before downloading a movie until I found this bintube player brought to you by the folks. Although there are no channels per say, we all know where we can get the "channel" list, right?. The process usually goes like this, find the NZB from your favorite newsgroup indexer, load it up with bintube player, and start watching the movie — It's that simple. Somehow though you may not get the same nice warm feeling as when you pay for it.. Has the movie industry consider NNTP as ways to distribute movies legally? (sigh, it boils down to bandwidth, we know..) go figure...
