+ - Taking humor to a Heartbleed'ing new level!

Submitted by fries
fries (14958) writes "It is not news that OpenBSD is ripping OpenSSL a new one, and with good cause. The code has torn the industry a new one in a multiple platform debut of the heartbleed saga. When you are having so much pain from the server updates and password resets, it is time to laugh. Head over to http://opensslrampage.org/ for your dose of humor as related to the latest OpenBSD efforts."

Submitted by
ABOCOS
ABOCOS writes "
ABOCOS is a peer-to-peer (p2p) client specification designed to facilitate basic services, such as web pages, databases, email, data distribution, and name based addressing with zero reliance on centralized servers. ABOCOS is designed to be faster, more efficient, and more resistant to cheating than bittorrent. It is designed from the ground up to provide security and privacy for users through the integration of encryption, proxying, and intrusion detection features. The data distribution algorithm and a description of the security model have been published on the website. Community review, criticism, and contribution is welcome.

Disk Drives Face Challenge From Chips 235

WSJdpatton writes "Researchers are reporting significant progress in perfecting a different way to store data in semiconductors, which could replace one widely used type of memory chip and possibly become a credible competitor to disk drives. The researchers, in a paper being delivered at a technical conference in San Francisco, say they used a novel combination of materials to create prototype phase-change components that are more than 500 times as fast as flash chips, while requiring less than half of the electrical power to record data."

10.0 times 0.1 is hardly ever 1.0.
