writes "I've just started a new position as a Network Administrator. It's a smaller company, so we don't have clear lines in our job definitions. For the most part I don't mind helping out where it's needed, but I wonder how many of my fellow Slashdot-reading network administrators are responsible for inventory. I mean maintaining a spreadsheet with all the company's assets on it — serial numbers, asset tag numbers, purchase date, cost, the works. Is this part of my job or should I tell the bean counter to count the beans herself?"
