+ - Sony gives PS3 buyers TVs worth £2500 ea

Submitted by ctid
ctid (449118) writes "The BBC is reporting that at the midnight opening of the Virgin Megastore in Oxford Street in London, Sony gave the first 100 queueing gamers free £2500 televisions and free taxi rides home. Some people had been queueing for 36 hours and apparently didn't react at first when they heard the news. Interestingly, the article says that the number of gamers seemed small compared to previous launches and they quote a Sony executive who claims that consumers know that there are lots of PS3s in stock, so they're not rushing out to buy one immediately."

Promising costs nothing, it's the delivering that kills you.
