Submission + - James Bond fanatic creates underwater car (telegraph.co.uk)

Lazarus writes: 30 years ago, the famous scene in "The Spy Who Loved Me" shows James Bond's Lotus Esprit taking a dive underwater. Inspired by that movie moment, concept car designer Frank Rinderknecht designed a scuba diving car using the Lotus Elise as its base. The 1 million ($1,460,000) prototype, can dive to a depth of 10 meters using a battery powered motor. On land, the vehicle can reach speeds of up to 75mph and cruise on the surface at 4mph, and while underwater a tranquil 2mph can be achieved. In addition to being really cool, the Elise is also a "green" car, as it runs on lithium-ion batteries, hence having zero-emissions. However, there are no plans to put the car into production. The car will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

There is very little future in being right when your boss is wrong.
