As someone who's constantly training for marathons and triathlons I find that I'm frequently at a calorie deficit. Even if I constantly chug olive oil and almond butter I still need to fill in the gaps with 5 or 6 meals per day plus junk food. You have no idea how hard it is to cram 4k+ calories into every available orifice!

+ - Fox News encodes propaganda in their URLs->

Submitted by bucketoftruth
bucketoftruth writes "Descriptive URLs are all the rage these days, allowing would-be clickers to identify the content of an article before visiting the site. They can also be used to deceive or send a message. Fox News' website offered their version of a descriptive URL with a few easter eggs. 1. The URL includes "obama-gets-crack-healer-chief" when crack, healer, and chief don't appear anywhere in the article or headline. 2. The accompanying picture in the article is named "0bama_111009_forthood_monster_397x224.jpg". 0bama is spelled with a zero — a popular meme of groups that consider his presidency invalid. There's also no reference to a monster at Fort Hood, apart from the implied character of the shooter. Buy why include it in a picture of the president and first lady? Is Fox exercising creative license with URLs or is it more nefarious?"

+ - Did Vista break the upgrade treadmill?->

Submitted by TropicalCoder
TropicalCoder writes "Windows 7 has been launched, but there is no corporate rush to replace XP. When you include replacement hardware, admin costs, application testing, and replacing incompatible apps, Gartner's VP of research, Michael Silver, believes that in a hypothetical organization with 2,500 Windows users, the cost of upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 will run $1,035 to $1,930 per user." Eric Knorr, InfoWorld
Perhaps this might explain the lack of enthusiasm? ...but are there any realistic alternatives to upgrading to Windows 7?"

+ - Microsoft Attracted To, Repulsed By Win 7 Whopper

Submitted by theodp
theodp writes "As Microsoft teamed with Burger King last week to celebrate the launch of Windows 7 with a seven-patty Whopper weighing in at 2,000+ calories, the USPTO unveiled a Microsoft patent application decrying those who would eat such fare. 'Many people out of sheer laziness refrain from partaking in physical activity and consume unhealthy food,' complains the patent application for What You Will Look Like in 10 Years. 'This avoidance is borne out by the soaring demographic of persons who can be classified as being obese and who continually and incessantly eat fast foods (e.g., hamburgers, french fries, pizza, hot dogs, etc.) and then proceed to 'supersize' the order for a marginal increase in price, for example. In most instances, if people were pictorially or visually made aware of the consequences of their choices and actions, many, if not most, would modify their behavior and life style selections to comport with a healthier body image.'"

1. Does it have an IMAP client that supports IDLE?
2. Do the IMAP and SMTP protocols support SSL/TLS from personal CAs?
3. Does the email client support identities (like thunderbird)?
4. Can I use my own Openfire XMPP server with my personal CA?
5. Can I use my own iCal/CalDAV server for my calendar? Is there another app besides google's calendar?

Those are my criteria for buying a new phone. Who's got the answers?
