Submission + - Open Source Tangible Multi-Touch Surfaces!

bdejong writes: "Following up the recent coverage on the Microsoft Surface, it is probably important to point out some of the existing work in that area. It has been widely discussed that Jefferson Han's FTIR Multi-Touch interface as well the reactable have been clear role models for this new platform. The reactable guys even provide reacTIVision, a free software framework that allows anybody to build his own interactive table, with features like object tracking and multi-touch interaction. Talking about these interaction concepts it is probably also important to point to the earlier work of Myron Krueger for example, who developed most of the shown multi-touch gestures for his "videodesk" system 25 years ago."
