+ - Heat shuts down LED mural for the summer

Submitted by Subie
Subie (63464) writes "It turns out LED TVs may not be the panacea they've been made out to be, after all. The eye-catching electronic mural that looms over the Massachusetts Turnpike as drivers enter Boston has been having technical problems and will go dark until September, a spokeswoman for WGBH said today. The problem is that some of the LEDs (light-emitting diodes) that produce the image on the screen go dark when they become too warm. The public television and radio station is planning to enhance the cooling system, Lucy Sholley, director of marketing and promotion, said in an e-mail."

+ - Google disables mass Gmail accounts

Submitted by bconway
bconway (63464) writes "Within the past few hours, Google has mass disabled Gmail accounts for unknown reasons. The support forum quickly filled up with hundreds of posts from disabled users. Even worse than not being able to log in and access mail, email sent to these accounts is being bounced. Google has not responded at this time."

Consultants are mystical people who ask a company for a number and then give it back to them.
