Submission + - How has the sun's output affected climate change?

arodland writes: The Times Online is reporting that a pair of NASA probes, due for launch in September and dubbed STEREO, will be collecting data in the study of the Sun's output and its effect on Earth's climate. Since the Sun's power dwarfs anything that humans are capable of, and we know that its output can vary noticeably in the course of as little as a week, some scientists argue that it's only sensible to investigate the possibility that warming trends on the Earth are due primarily to an increase in energy received from the Sun.
