amightywind writes "A commercial Zenit 3SL rocket blew up on the launch pad Tuesday on would have been its 24th flight. The Sea Launch platform is towed from its port in Long Beach to the equatorial Pacific where satellite launches can take full advantage of the Earth's rotation. Sea Launch is a consortium of 4 companies from the Norway, Russia, Ukraine, and the US."
