alphabetsoup writes "Office 2010 Technology preview was leaked a few days back. With its leak, a feature which was rumored to be present can now be confirmed. Office 2010 finally adds support for Advanced Typographic features (ligatures, number forms, alternates, etc.) of OpenType, allowing one to create documents so far possible only in TeX or InDesign.
Between this, the new equation editor and styles, what are the chances of Word replacing LaTeX as the editor of choice in academia ?"
alphabetsoup writes "A video shot by a spectator at this weekend's Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix may end up deciding the fate of the world championship this year. With 2 races to go, Lewis Hamilton, the rookie, seemed to have the championship in his pocket with a 12 point lead. However, he is currently under investigation by race stewards after a video shot by a spectator was posted on Youtube which shows Hamilton broke racing regulations and caused 2 cars behind him to crash through his erratic driving. The incident was surprisingly completely missed by TV cameras at the track. This is probably the first time that a amateur video has decided the fate of a sporting championship."Link to Original Source

The counterfeits were designed from photos of iPhones posted on the internet. However these clones differ from the original in one crucial aspect — they are much more open than the original iPhone. The counterfeit phones work on any network. From the article: "It's the exterior we are imitating," Ben says. "If customers want functions, we can offer more and much better functions than the real phone."
With Apple delaying the launch of iPhone in Asia till 2008, these clones may be the only option of available to Asians for another year."Link to Original Source
