Comment Antibacterial phage therapy is 80% effective (Score 1) 245

Bacteriophages are being used to cure such infections in one of polish hospitals. For example MRSA is being cured in 80% of cases.
Therapy is safe and cheap:

If you know anyone who is struggling with some nasty staph-like infection, then please inform about this therapy availability. This information might save people lives.

Why you are not going to see such treatments in USA?? Phages are not patentable, so no way to earn hard cash here.

Yep. Archaic or just retarded?

Submission + - NASA Langley Study On Cold Fusion's Potential in Aviation->

Baldrson writes: Perpetually in-flight "skytrains" with which smaller aircraft would temporarily dock to exchange passengers and cargo, ground-effect flying container ships ala the Hughes Spruce Goose (only bigger and not made of spruce) and vertical takeoff and landing supersonic business jets were among among the aircraft potentials of cold fusion technology presented at NASA Langley's ARMD Seedling Seminar, February 25, 2014 in a study titled "Low Energy Nuclear Reaction Aircraft" (Warning: Adobe Connect). One comment heard: "There is a similar initiative in Lockheed/Martin."

Edwin Hubble was very sceptical about, so called "Big Bang" theory and claimed that there might be different explanation of redshift effect which he observed.

``Astronomer Edwin P. Hubble says that after a six-year study, evidence does not support what we now call the Big Bang theory, according to the Associated Press. “The universe probably is not exploding but is a quiet, peaceful place and possibly just about infinite in size.''''

PU-238 can only be bought from Russians (as it was done in case of Curiosity power source):

Dr Zheng Cui (Wake Forest University of Medicine in North Carolina) discovered that human innate immune system is very effective at killing a wide range of cancer cells. About 15-40% of human population is naturally cancer resistant. Granulocytes kill 97% of injected cancer cells within 24 hours.
The most important discovery is that such cancer resistance can be transferred via simple blood transfusion. Here are some articles:
