YokimaSun writes: Amazon has announced an overhaul of its Fire tablet and Kindle ereader range. The headlining act of the list is the Fire HDX 8.9 due out in October which boasts an impressive super hi-def 2560x1600 pixel display, better audio and lighter weight and is sure to give the iPad Air a run for its money. The Fire HD Kids Edition seems a good attempt at stopping our children being duped into spending vast amounts of money by including a year of FreeTime Unlimited, which has over 5,000 books, movies, TV episodes, educational apps, and games at no additional cost. There’s also a new Kindle on the way too called the Kindle Voyage. Its 7.8mm thick and has a 300ppi display with a new glass screen and a new page-turning mechanism called ‘PagePress’. Theres also new versions of Kindle Fire and Kindle Paperwhite too.

An anonymous reader writes: Not everyone can afford an iPad, a Google Nexus or even a Kindle Fire HD. So when you see an Android Tablet running v4.0 of the Android OS and selling for $58/£38, with a 5 Point Capacitive Touch Screen, 1.0Ghz 512MB, 4GB Storage, 800 x 480 pixels resolution amongst its features then surely this can be good enough to run most of the best games and emulators on Android. My question to the Slashdot faithful is would you if you were on a budget go for a tablet like the one above?

The SKU was released in Europe at the tail end of last year but at that time Sony said there were no plans to release it in the USA. The new Superslim PS3 has a new internal design architecture, and removing the disc-fed tray and replacing it with a sliding top-loading disk cover, the PS3 Super Slim is reduced in size by up to 25% compared to the current Slim PS3. The 12GB PS3 is $199 compared to the former cheapest 250GB SKU which retailed at $269. Sony`s last hurrah before the PS4 Arrives ?

Well now ZTE have gone live with the Firefox Phone on sale for $80 in the US store and £60 in the UK Store, will the phone with built in Twitter and Facebook support be any match for the IOS and Android juggernauts, time will only tell but the fact that the phone is cheap and open to all networks is an interesting start.
YokimaSun writes: Sony and Microsoft at E3 last night showed off to the world their new next gen consoles and whilst both were impressive, Sony seemed to steal the day with better decisions. First off the price of the XboxOne is $499/£429 and to be released on November 30th, the pick of the games were Halo Combat and Star Wars Battlefront. However Sony will release the PS4 in the holiday season before Xmas for $399/£349 which is a full $100 cheaper. Heres where Sony have played a master stroke, first off the PS4 will be region free, major support for indie developers, there will be no penalty whatsoever for having used games and in 2014 PS3 Games will be streamed to the PS4. Will Microsoft back track on the Used game policy ?
