For me the real issue with free to play games is the amount of money they want for the so called "micro-transactions" in game. Micro to me is 10 cents, 50 cents, maybe 1 dollar. Not $500 that MechWarrior is charging!!! (yes that for a super shinny uber mech) even the cost of one of their regular mechs is something like $28 dollars when you convert their in game money "mc" to real USD. They want something like $5 for a color that you would paint your mech with!

Blizzard wants to sell you a special pet $15 or a mount for $25??? WTF. This is AFTER you are already paid for the game $60 and paying for a monthly subscription of $13-15, and they are asking for more??? (keep in mind that when WOW had 10mil + subs and charging avg. of 14$ a month, blizzard was making around $140,000,000 a MONTH!!!! That's... One Hundred and Fourth Million dollars a month. over $1,680,000,000 a year...)

Is it better to get 100 people to buy stuff at 1 cent or 1 person to give you $1 dollar? IMO the 1 cents guys are better because you have 100 people playing your game. and more options to sell more stuff for 1 cent to those 100 players.

Gaming has evolved for me. I am no longer interested in shelling out hundred of dollars for just OK games. I decided to start voting with my wallet. sorry Elder Scrolls, I will play you when you go F2p and if you want any money at all from me, you better make your micro-transactions micro! Too many good games out there now on Steam that are F2P or very low cost. Those are the guys I am going to give my money to.

I totally agree with your post! My issue with the OP was his comment about "Security isn't about safety". In my opinion that's total rubbish. People set up "security" measures (offensive or defensive as in your case) to provide themselves "safety".

I do disagree with you a little on your 1) point.... Break into my house and then tell me how "poor" my Desert Eagle is as a defense solution. :)

Thanks for the link!

The article you linked was Spanish-speaking vs English, and that IMO is totally different then what we are discussing here. When you call a call center from India, you are going to speaking with someone that also speaks English. Do they sound like the back-woods-hillbilly that works in a Alabama call center? Someone that works in a Boston call center? No.. they are going to have an Indian accent. That does not automatically make them any less intelligent as most like to believe.

Just like when I speak to some hilly-billy-ebonics-back-woods-redneck support center rep in Texas... If i am having a hard time understanding what they are saying, I polity ask them to slow down. I then know I need to slow down when I speaking to them, as I am sure they are having just as hard time understanding me. To my point... If most were to STFU and listen and use some manners... Everything would be ok.

What ticks me off is when I hear some red-neck American IT go on about how he hates talking to them "brown bastards" in India. Its good to learn that the people that work in India call centers just brush us off as a bunch of racist American assholes. :)

I am sure I will get moded down for this, but "whateva"... (yes I am American)

I am so tired of American IT workers bitching about Indian tech support. First off... It seems that most of the time, the American IT guy bitching about the support he is getting actually has no clue WTF he is talking about in the first place. Second... Why don't you shut your American-I-am-always-right mouth for one second and actually LISTEN. If you are too stupid to realize that your speaking with a person whose first language is not English and you need to slow down, then you're probably fall into my first point.

"These" people that you are speaking with are not trained monkeys. I believe in TFA most of the people he spoke with were top of their class or had higher education.

Alberta Scientists Discover Largest-Ever Cache of Dinosaur Bones 154

from the dino-mother-lode dept.
Cryolithic writes "The largest cache of dinosaur bones ever found has been unearthed in Alberta. From the article: '... officials at the Royal Tyrrell Museum say the Hilda site provides the first solid evidence that some horned dinosaur herds were much larger than previously thought, with numbers comfortably in the high hundreds to low thousands. ... Rather than picturing the animals as drowning while crossing a river, a classic scenario that has been used to explain bonebed occurrences at many sites in Alberta, the research team interpreted the vast coastal landscape as being submerged during tropical storms or hurricanes. With no high ground to escape to, most of the members of the herd drowned in the rising coastal waters. Carcasses were deposited in clumps across kilometers of ancient landscape as floodwaters receded.'"
