The internet will be harder and harder to use, it will be a more dangerous place every year, and the skills you'll need to use it without being robbed or blackmailed will increase. I suspect there will be parallel internets, usable by tech savvy people only, as a layer on top of the net as we know it, similar to the dark nets we see now. 20 years from now, most of us here will be able to use the net in a more or less safe way, whereas a majority of people will not.

Ubuntu does have issues supporting GPUs on laptops. I can't get the geforce GPU of my Dell XPS 13 to work because of the power off option it has, Ubuntu doesn't have the proper drivers to support the gpu by default. You can install additional software for that, but then you have to start your software with a special command to use the GPU, which will then keep running, using a lot of power.

Comment: Parental content control? Really? (Score 1) 260

If "parental content control" means your kids do not learn about sex, I'm opposed to it. In countries where people are ridiculously puritan (i.e., the US) the number of teen pregnancies is 20 times higher than in countries where people are relaxed about sex and nudity (i.e., the Netherlands). I have always supervised my kids, online and offline, but never installed "parental content control".
