Victor_0x53h writes: Libiquity is announcing that it will soon start selling Libreboot X200 subnotebooks — laptops modified to run entirely on free/libre and open source software. The fast, flexible, and secure Libreboot firmware will boot to a user-friendly Trisquel GNU/Linux desktop.

The Free Software Foundation recently announced its endorsement of the Libreboot X200, a refurbished Lenovo laptop, currently available through Gluglug. The laptop ships with 100% free software and firmware and Intel's AMT removed.

Submission + - Internet providers set to crack down on illegal file-sharing->

Victor_0x53h writes: "AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and other major Internet service providers are set to implement a copyright alert system aimed at cutting down on illegal peer-to-peer file sharing of copyrighted material "over the next several weeks," according to the head of the organization overseeing the new anti-piracy program. Under the new copyright alert system, these providers will send a series of e-mail alerts to subscribers whose accounts may have been used to illegally distribute music, movies or other entertainment content via file-sharing."
