+ - I Won The Windows Phone Challenge, But lost 'just because'->

Submitted by
Tsingi
Tsingi writes "I was quite excited to take the challenge, but left the Microsoft Store in distaste. I sure hope the purpose of this marketing ploy is to attract new customers by demonstrating the highlights of Windows Phone, not frustrating them instead. If anyone from Microsoft would like to have a rematch, I would be happy to smoke a Windows Phone with Android, again."

Bug

+ - Ubuntu Bug #1, Microsoft->

Submitted by
Tsingi
Tsingi writes "Ubuntu bug #1:

Microsoft has a majority market share in the new desktop PC marketplace.
This is a bug, which Ubuntu is designed to fix.

Non-free software is holding back innovation in the IT industry, restricting access to IT to a small part of the world's population and limiting the ability of software developers to reach their full potential, globally. This bug is widely evident in the PC industry.

This has probably been posted before, if not, popcorn time!"

+ - The Patriot Act takes Steroids->

Submitted by Tsingi
Tsingi (870990) writes "Everyone should read this article from the ACLU it applies to you whether you are American or not.

Senators need to hear from you, on whether you think your front yard is part of a battlefield and if any president can send the military anywhere in the world to imprison civilians without charge or trial.

The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president and every future president the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world."

+ - Big Media Ignores Protests-> 1

Submitted by Tsingi
Tsingi (870990) writes "In case you haven't heard, there is an ongoing protest taking place on Wall Street. There is no shame in being ignorant of the event; the "mainstream" news media has gone out of its way to ignore what is happening down there, Yahoo's email service was recently busted for blocking messages having to do with the protest, and Twitter — that bastion of protest messaging for the people who organized the Arab Spring movements — has reportedly been quashing Wall Street protest-oriented tweets out of hand."
