'We won't survive another 1,000 years without escaping our fragile planet'. Should read; 'We won't survive another 1,000 years without escaping our fragile planet, at current rates of growth and consumption'. It's extremely small minded/short sighted of the worlds most famous physicist, to assume the current system will keep chugging along, with business as usual, for a THOUSAND more years. Submission + - Brand Advocate Fired Over Tweet (

Mike Allton writes: "Adria Richards, brand advocate for SendGrid, has been fired. While attending a Python conference, she sent a Tweet to alert conference organizers that inappropriate behavior was taking place. Organizers escorted the developers from the conference, but one developer employer went so far as to fire that developer. Consequently, Adria began receiving threats and SendGrid is under a DDoS attack, and now they've fired Adria in response."

Why on Earth did they choose to put part of the telescope in Africa? Don't they realize how unstable South Africa is becoming? The natives are killing whites in unprecedented numbers and it looks like, longish term, that the country is going to devolve much like other African nations that suddenly decide they don't need help from 'whitey'. I think it was a very bad choice, and probably one they made out of political correctness, which is absolutely ludicrous.

Comment insurance companies (Score -1, Flamebait) 206

The part about the insurance companies really pisses me off. First of all, it's REQUIRED that we insure almost EVERYTHING now. and then the greedy jewish fucks actually get legislation passed, ensuring that it's nearly impossible to recoup any money after losses. Meanwhile they remain one of the most profitable businesses in human history.
