Yay! The Register reports that Jon Johansen (a.k.a. DVD Jon), the author of the program DeCSS (which allows one to watch DVDs on a Linux-based computer) has been acquitted of all charges in Norwegian court! The corresponding article can be found here. We can only hope that the US Supreme Court can show as much common sense.
Ever get that feeling that they were ripping you off, crippling your sound card, and just selling different drivers and adding connectors to the high-end ones? Turns out you were right! Our friends at mydrivers.com (warning, site in Chinese) have some drivers that will enable Audigy2 functionality on the SB Live!. Yet another point for the consumer, and yet another hit against crippled hardware. Greets to DarkwingDuck, our informant.

New record... 2002-12-01 01:13:59 Make your SB Live! think it's an Audigy 2 (articles, hardware) (rejected)
And the editors say that their queue is filled to the brim, and they can't spend another 3 seconds clicking a reason. GAH.
Hm. I wrote this a while back over a few nights when I was feeling like Marvin the Paranoid Android (everyone has those days/weeks/months/whatevers), giving it to a few people on IRC, and intending to post it on Slashdot. Some people say that it's useful for explaining IRC to people who don't use it - I can see how. Clicky, oh, and no high-bandwidth stuff PLEASE, it's just being hosted on a cable connection right now. =/ And as to Yatta!, I saw it on the UF message boards, and now I have "Yat-ta, yat-ta, yat-ta, yat-ta", etc, stuck in my head. Excellent. Good night folks.
