Submission + - Judge calls for UK DNA database

Tandoori Haggis writes: "Everyone who lives in Britain should have their DNA stored on a national database,", according to a "top judge" in the UK, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4038079.stm Would this make UK citizens safer? Is DNA really really going to be the 100% certain solution or will it tend to cause more problems for the citizen, e.g., identity theft, mistaken identity?
