Mr Whiskers and Ms. Tabby had served in the Queen's Cats, and knew all about Mr. Brownmouse. They went to the relative security of the parlour, and spoke of the matter in dragon-language, which Mr. Brownmouse had never been able to master. ("Too many sparkles," he'd mutter, when he overheard snippets of it.) Then Mr. Whiskers headed downtown to Catland Yard, and Ms. Tabby and the dragon had a cheerful talk about the merits of bells on toys. They also discussed Mr. brownmouse's rodent mafia connections, which Ms. Tabby was surprised to find that the dragon knew all about. When Mr. Whiskers got home, they compared notes again, and then took a liesurely nap on a pillow in the parlour.

The sound of sleep fills the apartment like a faint smell of incense. It's nice. Kitten asleep on the arm of the chair. Blinder out like a little light still asleep; i'm the only one yet awake.

I like these mornings.

We cleaned the house yesterday morning, and i think we may move housecleaning day to saturday, because we're so relieved to have it over with starting the weekend.

what day do you clean house? What's your chores? I get the bathroom to clean, blinder takes the kitchen.

  • I'm probably going to clean house today, because I have time. Maybe I'll get something done with my long-planned plant stands too.

It's amazing how much fur a long-haired black cat can leave. When she skids to a stop she sometimes leaves streaks on the carpet; they look like she locked her brakes and flat-spotted her tires.
  • i'm awake now. just a sleepy blinder this morning.

it was indeed nice to wake up to a clean apartment on a sunday morning. i'm all for moving the cleaning day. we just have to make sure we get the paperwork in, signed in triplicate and hopefully the committee will have the approval done quickly!
  • i get the bug on the weekends to clean (like yesterday, the piles of paper near my comp are gone now!)

The problem is, WoW goes down Tuesday mornings for several hours, so BBB takes that time to clean. He hardly lets me do anything.

    ^_^

  • I usually spend Saturdays cleaning and shopping ... this leaves time Sunday for other things. In other words, anything that I didn't get to yesterday will probably have to wait a day or two more.

Worse comes to worse, I can always close the door to my office (it really needs some attention, but its just too "overwhelming" to bother with it just yet).

I just can't wait until spring. For some reason, cleaning in spring doesn't seem as pointless.

  • Bathrooms every week or two. Floors every few weeks. Kitchen happens on a daily basis. I do whatever needs to be cleaned when I feel like cleaning. Roommate does likewise. It all works out somehow.
  • To allow for at least one day without any pressure to accomplish anything. We can go to the park, or the zoo, or whatever, without feeling that we have to get back soon to do laundry, cook, clean, do shopping, or dishes.
