+ - Dock connecter extender for iPod universal dock?

Submitted by Slashdot Junky
Slashdot Junky (265039) writes "Hey everyone,

Like so many of you, I have an iPod Video(60GB) in a case and want to use Apple's universal dock. The problem with this is that with the case on, I am not able to do so. I'm also not willing to remove it from the case to dock it.

I bought the dock thinking that there would be enough clearance without the model-specific insert in place and can't return it. I need to find an extender/riser/adapter for the dock connector that would allow me to dock my iPod without removing the case. I have scoured the net and have only found discussions about this very thing. The only thing close I've found are dock connector to breakout PCBs for hobby dev work seemingly related to the iPodLinux project.

Does such a thing exist? How about as a removable component of 3rd party dock or accessory that could possible be obtained as a replaceable part from the manufacturer? Although I very much like my Speck ToughSkin, I'd also consider buying a new case if I could find an acceptable one that was compatible with the universal dock.

Thanks,
-Slashdot Junky"

Aren't you glad you're not getting all the government you pay for now?
