The owners manual in my car suggest changing the oil every 7,500 miles. Modern oils and modern engines are much better than the ones that the 3000 mile guidelines developed from. You can "check your number" at the calrecycle web site to see the vehicle manufacturer recommendations.

I think you are confusing/conflating the terms patent and copyright. As for being targeted via IP address, just use a VPN. It's not rocket surgery.

I don't care about RDP either, but have you ever used NX/X2Go instead of straight X forwarding? I find it is much faster and usable even over slow(ish) connections.

From your statement, you obviously haven't used NX/X2Go. Very fast even over slow connections.

The second part is entirely untrue. If you grew up in the 70's and 80's you would remember that a car owner would feel lucky to get 100,000 miles out of a car. Now, if you don't get at least that many miles, you bought a lemon. Better manufacturing techniques are part of it, of course, but no small part of the increased reliability is computer controlled combustion.

Then compile it out of the kernel in embedded applications. The kernels on those applications are all custom built anyway.

Do you know anyone who uses Straight Talk? I'm out of contract in January 2014 and I'm contemplating buying the newest Nexus phone at that time and switching to Straight Talk. I worry about running over the "secret" 2GB data cap and getting cut off. There is good AT&T coverage where I live and work, so I was planning on buying an AT&T sim from ST.
