The lyrics included a chorus along the lines of, "Hanging on the edge of a heart attack," or "hanging on a heart attack," or something along those lines relating to a heart attack.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as google has not been particularly helpful thus far;-)

a) call the divinyls a synth pop band is just wrong in so many ways

Speaking of taste... My wife also just got We like the cars that go boom on iTunes. I've heard various people singing it themselves for years, but I realized that I had never actually heard the song itself! They sound like their 12, so it s a very, very disconcerting thing to listen to now;-)
