+ - Texas public charter schools teach creationism->

Submitted by SeattleGameboy
SeattleGameboy (641456) writes "Slate has a fascinating expose on teaching materials used by one of the largest public charter schools in Texas. Not only are they disputing evolution and teaching creationism, but they also twist world history, denigrates feminism and sexual orientation.

With so many tech companies basing their operations in Texas, on wonders how you can find enough workers with critical reasoning skills."

Actually, Florida's Stand Your Ground law says otherwise. You have the right to stand your ground and not back down. The reports are claiming that the victim started the physical confrontation. The shooter would be within his right to shoot the victim in that circumstance. Yes, the law is nuts. But it is the law.

Wrong company. It is more like Amgen is making things worse. If you want to give yourself a good scare watching the latest Frontline episode on superbugs is a great way to do it.

It gets worse. Larry BORROWS against his stock option so that he does not even have to pay for the 15% tax. This is while he spends hundreds of millions on a yacht race. There is a reason why Larry is the prime candidate for the biggest a-hole in the world.

Red Sox cannot poach Cardinals' pitchers during the World Series because there are collective bargaining clauses between the league and players associations to bar that from happening. But Red Sox can sign any free agent from Cardinals when they are available.

There are no such collective bargaining agreements between employees and employers in Silicon Valley. You are working with "at will" agreements which can be broken at any time. There is nothing stopping anyone from poaching other company's employees, sans collusion.

Hmmm... not sure about that. When I fly, I have to get to the airport at least 90 min before (that is pretty common, many arrive 2 hours before), add 30 min for travel from my house to the airport, add another hour from landing to getting a rental car, and another hour or so to get the destination, you are looking at 6 to 7 hours total for that 1.5 hour in the air. 8 to 10 hour drive is a distance I normally drive.
