SamTheButcher's Journal: Butcher here but under weather. 36

Journal by SamTheButcher
Either ear infection or some throat thing. Drinking green tea with honey and lemon presently. Staying home to rest and hopefully knock it out. Possibly doctor visit in the after noon. Needless to say, I'll likely hit the dreaded 50 post limit today since I'll have more free time than usual. Keep me entertained, people.

Hop to it.

  • Called Sammy the Second or something and then have a link between both (on your StB bio saying "StS is also myself"). Then you have more posts. Hopefully then folks would also friend him as well (or not have friends only JEs)...

Yes... I'm at work and spending valuable brain cycles thinking about this stuff.
  • ...what's new in your life since the return of the kin?

(Sorry, but I've had that line saved up for about a week and a half now. I wasn't going to let such a perfect opportunity to use it pass me by.)
    • Well, I wish I had had some chicken so I could say I'm the lord of the wings, or that I got dirty and had to take two showers. Can't think of anything for fellowship, though. ;)

It's been good. I think I got the cold from my wife, but I told her I'd rather be sick with her home than well and have them still be gone. :)

      • I don't think Santeria rituals will help.

My prescription is pr0n and Jack Daniels, of course :)

Heheh. That's like when Boo said "Don't kiss me, I'm sick. I don't want to make you sick" And I said, "It'll be worth it." :-)

Ok, and now for your entertainment...
/me balances on pink and white striped inflatable ball, juggling 5 bowling pins, while circus music plays in the background (Duh-duh dun-da-dun-ah).

How's that? It's really hard to type and juggle at the same time

  • Go read through people's journals and nominate them for the 713s.

    Do it now move son!

    Or not.

Whatever, the choice is up to you.

And uh, feel better and stuff.
  • Twisted yeti baseball [yonkis.com] to occupy your time. Found the link on [H]ard|OCP [hardocp.com] yesterday...
  • She's on the couch right now. I'll be seeing her all afternoon since we're getting our cat today. At first I thought she was coming up with a reason to get off work and be here when the cat comes home, but now I think its not just an act. Poor kid.
  • I'm currently hooked on this [freeverse.com] I can't get enough of this stupid game. If you like pitch, then this is the ultimate computer version. I regularily smack down the computer players (little does it know that I used to play everyday in college -- often skipping classes because I was having a good game).

I haven't tried playing others online -- but man, this game is so much fun. I love it... and well, its pretty funny too, especially when playing against the ghost (Mel).
  • an all caps subject line is about as entertaining as i can be. ok, i'll give you some things to look up. i was proud of myself the day i pulled a fakie ollie backside boardslide to smith to 180 shove it. i couldn't do it these days. i might be able to do a plain old fakie ollie nose grind. on a good day, i might pull a chink-chink, but only on a small mini ramp. or maybe a small quarter. i was also happy when i got andrechts and varial andrechts, but i wouldn't even attempt any kind of invert these d
    • Face plant!!! :)
      • i've pulled off a few glorious examples, but unlike other maneuvers, each individual occurance of the face plant varies greatly in difficulty, so a direct comparison between my performances and yours would be impossible.

as far as best slams go, mine was the time i was skating on a mini 1/2 that wasn't complete yet. the deck/platform wasn't surfaced yet, but there was a sheet of plywood on the back of the platform. i fell out over it, and landed on the edge of the backing exactly between my hip and ribs.
        • Damn. That's a bruise.

I should have titled my post as: "My *only* move". I'm interested in skateboarding (thanks to a friend) and have tried it, but can't do a damn thing and I'm getting too old to even consider it anymore. I'll stick to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (3/4 suck IMHO) and watching "The Search for Animal Chin". ;)

          Total poseur, me.
          • don't sell yourself so short. i'm sure if you put some effort into it, you could crash onto other parts of your body.

i enjoyed THPS 3, didn't play 4 enough to form an opinion. i'll have to pick up THUG, since i have 1 and 3. the pattern for me seems to be the odd releases.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! lol

Did you ever play THPS2? I think 2 blew 3 and 4 away--they're just cheap.
          • I'm interested in skateboarding (thanks to a friend) and have tried it, but can't do a damn thing and I'm getting too old to even consider it anymore.

WRONG! I'm 33, had never been on a ramp before in my life and I'm now screwing up the nerve to start dropping in. Get a board, pads and helmet and get out there, soldier! ;)

THPS4 for PS1 is pretty darn good. It's not as detailed as for the PS2. Haven't played THUG.

And The Search for Animal Chin is a classic. They need to put that on DVD. :)

    • Yer the bombastica fantastica.

Thanks for the grown up version of a word search when I'm sick. :)

Now you can watch your borrowed copy of Bottle Rocket!

I finally broke down after a week of ear/sinus infection and got stinking antibiotics. Finally felt better after a few days.

Hope you can fight it off and feel better Sam! :)
  • yes it goes on and on my friend. TL started typing it, not knowing what it was, and he'll continue typing it forever just because, this is the post that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend. Oh, no... I was wrong, it ends right here.
  • Hope you feel better soon.
