Just as I grouse that I never read the front page, I see this post. Well, truth be told, I was looking at the front page to see which images I could adblock to hopefully get the page to speed up some. Frickin' SLOW lately, mates.

Anyway, it's not the FP article that was interesting, but the open letter from Steve Jobs re:DRM.

The kicker? "Convincing them to license their music to Apple and others DRM-free will create a truly interoperable music marketplace. Apple will embrace this wholeheartedly."

    • I've got plenty of ads blocked. They don't bother me too much, even when they're not blocked. What bothers me is how many images Slashdot thinks it needs to download to properly display.

      HELLO!! Tech site. On the web. Use some really light CSS so that the biggest hangup your site has is the database transactions.

      Poor, poor performance.

      I get the same effect with Firefox + NoScript. Also gets rid of tracking cookies, random browser hacks, ninja new window opens, all sorts of stuff. Plus, enabling javascript can be done permanently or just for the current session in two clicks.

      Now if only Brushed would update for 2.0, my Firefox experience would be complete.
