This morning it was various holiday songs, but mostly Harry Connick Jr.'s "(It Must Have Been Ol') Santa Claus". It's not my favorite, but I like it.

In other news, it's the slow time of year at my work. I imagine next summer will be similar to this, but we have enough schools on the track system that I'll be able to keep busy. Getting ready for our trip to DisneyWorld and the surrounding environs in...29 days!! Wow...this has come up fast. I really need to sell my car before the trip. I have some work to do on the BMW and pay off a bunch of bills before the trip - that will help most of all.

Flare seemed to be over, but then there's been weirdness the past...well, yesterday. But hopefully it was just an anomaly.

Got some more almond flour from http://almondsonline.com/, much cheaper than other places. I'm thinking about making some pumpkin cookies this weekend, and maybe some of my bread tonight or tomorrow.

Just logged on to TiVo.com to schedule The Happy Elf, based solely on HCJr's involvement. One of my favorite shows in recent years has been Olive, The Other Reindeer. It's fun. :) "Christmas, bah, bug and hum!"

I'm learning a lot about Active Directory in my new job, which is really cool. Get me - a Microsoft product is cool! :) Heh...I'm also mucking about with XServes and such, which is also fun. I like that admin stuff. Honestly, now that I'm settled in, I could see myself staying for quite a while. I might get antsy, but I could also see adjusting to the slower pace. I have my Apple recertifications coming up soon - desktop and laptop repair. For Tiger helpdesk, I think that's just a new test. Would be worth it though, as they said their new OS update will be out around the same time as Longhorn. What's the ETA on that now? 2112? Anyway, it would be active for a while. Just don't know if I want/need to spend the money. I might get reimbursed by the district.

Anywho...just wanted to chime in. Looking for a little connection with other humans, I suppose. I don't get quite as much close interaction as I'd like, especially at this time of the year. But I also need to get out and go to some schools, so...I'll see what you all had to say later. Have a good day!

  • Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring tingle tingling too...

I was whistling it coming back from grabbing breakfast and my coworker mockingly interrogated me "is that a holiday neutral song?" I told him it was about a Kawanza bean harvest. We have too much fun.

  • rumor has it that the price will be high due to almond crops being damaged , etc. Do you bake gluten free ? or a mix of gluten/non gluten flours.
  • This morning it was "Killing in the name" by Rage.

(I had to go to a customer site yesterday at 4:30 (I normally go home at 4) and worked on their shit til 9, then back there first thing this morning. So, I was rather irritated. But I just ate some good grub and now, if I had a song...it would be: Alice in Chains, Nutshell.

    WEEEEEEEeeeeee.....chase misprinted liiiiieeesssss........

Live it, love it! You know you want it!

(I'm assuming you've heard this song, but if'n you ain't: here it go:

  • Since I told Sam's Club to go fuck themselves (they stopped taking any card but Discover, and Discover didn't have to be told -- they fucked themselves), I don't have a bid warehouse membership anymore, so I'm gonna have to find another source for the almonds for my English Toffee.

Did you do a bunch of price-comparison research, or was there another way you arrived at almondsonline.com as your nut flour source of choice?

    ....Bethanie....
    • I used to buy from http://lucyskitchenshop.com/ [lucyskitchenshop.com], but was looking for something a little lower. I've found almond flour at other places, but this was recommended off one of my SCD mailing lists. I checked it out and decided to order a 5lb. bag to see if it's similar in quality to the stuff I got from Lucy's - really fine blanched almond flour. It seems to be pretty good. I'm going to make some stuff this weekend, hopefully. I'll let you know if the quality is good as well. :) There's lots of nut sites out th
  • 2112... In my Top 10 albums of all time.

Glad things are slowing down for you at work. I'm leaving for two weeks of 12-16 hour days in Raleigh this weekend.

    Joy.

  • I've had the drum track from My Doorbell by White Stripes going on and on in my head for the whole day. I think it started last night when I saw the video.
  • but a big .edu ... not all over like yours is (from what i gather)

anyways, the busiest times of the year, by far, are, in this order:

    1. first two weeks of fall semester
    2. week before fall semester
    3. #1, but spring
    4. #2, but fall

use your time wisely before those times and prepare for them ... make sure ghost/altiris/g4u is working properly, wsus is humming along, etc etc, and you'll be fine
