Comment Re:DD-WRT works, but Linksys WRT54GS chokes 21 Mbp (Score 1) 257 257

The Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH works for me, with openwrt firmware that is. The default firmware is some kind of modified dd-wrt which has an awful "buffalo" interface and kept dropping packets. I tried dd-wrt as well but that gave the same problem with the choked bandwidth (in contrast with the buffalo firmware), the openwrt firmware is pretty easy to set up on this router and works perfectly for me, allowing the full use of my 120 mbit connection.

High Fructose Corn Syrup Causes Bigger Weight Gain In Rats 542 542

krou writes "In an experiment conducted by a Princeton University team, 'Rats with access to high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those with access to table sugar, even when their overall caloric intake was the same.' Long-term consumption also 'led to abnormal increases in body fat, especially in the abdomen, and a rise in circulating blood fats called triglycerides.' Psychology professor Bart Hoebel commented that 'When rats are drinking high-fructose corn syrup at levels well below those in soda pop, they're becoming obese — every single one, across the board. Even when rats are fed a high-fat diet, you don't see this; they don't all gain extra weight.'"

You can actually disable it as a windows key with a registry hack, and then use it for something useful, like a PTT key for voip apps. (You can change either keys, so for me the left windows key is for PTT, while my right windows key still has it's original function)

Pulseaudio is a bit strange, but nothing requires it's use, and IMHO there is no real reason for it to be used unless you want to do somewhat strange things (that you generally can't do on any other type of OS).

Like per-application volume control that no other OS provides (except Windows Vista and higher, Mac OSX, etc)?
