Journal: Just a minor update.

Journal by RFC959

Because I just _know_ my legions of fans have been wondering where I am... I haven't been posting much lately because:

a) I've been unemployed for a while, and, oddly enough, when unemployed, I feel _less_ like being on /., not more. (It's when I need to escape from the tedium of work I'm on /.)
b) Is it just me, or is /. more crowded than ever? A story gets posted, and 5 minutes later, there are 250 comments. My motto is "Shut up unless you have something interesting to say".

Incidentally, 2-year-old Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale == pretty good.

Journal: A weird change to metamoderation... 1

Journal by RFC959
Doing some metamoderation, I see this:

Rating: Insightful. This rating is Unfair Fair | See Context

OK, that's what I expected. But the next one looks like this...

Rating: Funny. This comment is Unfunny Funny | See Context

Eh? Now we're being asked whether the comment is funny or unfunny...but not the same for Insightful, Interesting, etc.? I suppose it means the same thing (if this wasn't funny, then the moderation was wrong), but then why make Funny a special case?

FORTUNE'S FUN FACTS TO KNOW AND TELL: A giant panda bear is really a member of the racoon family.
