I really like using linux for day to day things, or would like to more, if the things (read: games) I want to play were supported better on it. Maybe with Steam taking an interest in it we'll see that shift in the years to come, but for now I dual boot it with Windows.

Its pretty naive to think all americans only like the pop artists listened to on cd's, there's quite the local and social scene I'd imagine in just about every major city similar to how it is in my city on the east coast. Sounds like someone's been fed some BS propaganda.

The small dinosaurs probably got eaten, so the thought would be that the bigger dinosaurs live long enough to breed and they would beget bigger dino's as well else they would die, and so on. Circle of life would be the circular reasoning you're thinking of.
