PhilJC writes "The BBC ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7440658.stm ) has posted an article showing a novel use for GPS in modern games that takes GPS data from live Grand Prix races, loads it into your PC or console and allows you to compete against the professionals in realtime from your own living room.
It is unclear how they will convince racing drivers to crash on cue when rammed by a 14 year old in Stoke but it at least does show some innovative thinking for a change and opens up some interesting possibilities for other games that might come our way based on this tech — Anyone up for taking part in the Olympics without the smog? Or join the troops on the frontline of the next war perhaps?"
