I will never buy any product including DRM, for all the good reasons mentioned in other posts. The stuff is mine, I want to make sure that I will be able to read/see/listen to it forever.

Renting is however different : if I want to see a movie just once, I only care about the price of the provided; if using DRM reduces piracy and hence lowers the price for me, I am all for it.

What I like (or liked...) about Google Reader was that I could read some things at home on my Mac, some other at work on my PC and some others in between on mobile phone, and that the "read" status is synchronized.

I am ready to switch to anything else, as long as I can keep on reading stuff from everywhere. I am ready to install client applications.

Any idea ?

Cheap toys ? An iPhone costs more than many laptops or desktops...

Bullshit. When you move out, your landlord checks that the apartment or house is clean, that's all. If not, they will retain a certain amount on your 3 month deposit.

Submitted by redkemper
redkemper writes "BlackBerry laid all its cards on the table last week as it unveiled its new BlackBerry 10 platform and the two next-generation smartphones that will carry it through the first half of the year. BlackBerry fans were blown away, but as we discussed in a feature last week, the real challenge for the struggling smartphone vendor will be wooing users away from leading smartphone platforms. Early reviews were not convinced that the BlackBerry Z10 would gain much ground in this regard, however a recent research note from CIBC suggests BlackBerry may already be off to a phenomenal start with 50% of preregistration coming from non-BlackBerry users..."

Yeah, I believe that one. That's about the last thing anybody does with an iPhone anymore.

My kids use my old iPhones. They have pre-paid minutes, and no data plan. And Wifi in many places.

I'm always a bit surprised it still has the ability to make calls each time Apple announces a new version.

And you might even be more surprised that an iPhone 3GS, released in 2009, is still supported by the latest iOS version. Please show me any smartphone vendor whose products still get software upgrades after more than a few months...
