Canadian Apple stores not carrying 3G iPhone[->] 2008-07-08 22:07 PaisteUser

Submitted by PaisteUser on Tuesday July 08, @10:07PM
PaisteUser writes "Canada.com is reporting: 'If you want to buy one of the new 3G iPhones this Friday, don't bother going to an Apple store. Unlike the United States where consumers could buy iPhones at Apple retailers as well as through the wireless carrier AT&T that carries the phones, in Canada consumers will have to buy from a Rogers Wireless or Fido retailer or one of the company's authorized resellers.'"

PaisteUser writes "An MSNBC.com article writes that Charter Communications Inc. is dropping plans to track the Web usage of some high-speed Internet subscribers, citing concerns raised by customers, the company said Tuesday. In May, Charter announced a pilot program in four markets aimed at producing enough information for advertisers to target online ads for individual customers based on their viewing habits. But the St. Louis-based company said in a statement that some customers have raised concerns, so the program will be canceled before it begins."

The deal would pay Yahoo shareholders $31 a share, which represents a 62% premium from Thursday's closing price. Microsoft's statement said the offer allows Yahoo shareholders to elect to receive cash or a fixed number of shares of Microsoft common stock, with the software giant's offer consisting of one-half cash and one-half Microsoft common stock.
