What do *you* do when you're driving and there is direct sunlight in your eyes, or you encounter rain/fog?

If you could get the software to be half as near as good as peoples eyes and simply take peoples stupidity out of the equation then you'd end up with a system that was miles ahead of manual driving.

That isn't geeky .. thats just common sense as every man and his dog is posting on youtube now days . And I for one have not heard of the dead terrorist routine because I prefer David Strassman over Jeff Dunham.

First of all .. WTF is "Promote Stage Comedy in a Geeky way?" . To paraphrase a short green hairy dude "Promote or don't promote .. there is no geek in it".

Secondly .. he doesn't have an HBO special because (by your own and his estimation) he is not mainstream. No matter how much promotion you do, your potential audience will always be small if you only fill a niche.

First of all .. your reply is a perfect example of a straw-man logical fallacy. I never said anything about 100% correct software, or your boss presenting you with documentary evidence that you have been paid.
 
What I was saying was that there is a world of difference between a wishy-washy statement of "I guess" and an explicit "I believe". Sure it doesn't change the facts of what happened, but it does imply that the boss is actually in charge of the process, and is aware of the current disposition of his business.

It's not the process, its the description .. which doesn't lend much credence to the quality of the release.
 
How would you feel if your boss said "I guess we paid you", at the end of your pay period. Sure the accountants did their work and you did get paid, and you can go to your bank account and see the deposit, but what would your bosses comments make you feel about the entire pay process?

My latest guilty pleasure is on SyFy channel .. Robot Combat League. Yes it is cheesy. Yes it has the typical reality show emphasis on personalities. Yes they overdo the pyrotechnics. Yes there is probably about 15 minutes tops of real footage in the hour long show (Ya Tivo!) . Yes the robots are all the same basic platform (Nascar of robotics?), but it is fun to watch 8 foot tall, 800 lb tele-operated robots walking around and arena and wailing into each other and spewing hydraulic fluid when valves and cylinders give way. And then seeing the attempts at repairs in between rounds.

While it may seem like a superficial show its fun to sit back and try to understand the engineering that went into the combatants, and given that this is a first-of-its-kind series I hope the quality can only go up .. if there is a next season.

That guy is over thinking it. A wine bottle and a roll of duct tape can be used to make a good knife - and on international flights they serve wine in glass bottles. Credit cards can have their edges honed to the point of being as sharp as box cutters.

About the only thing worthwhile is using a remote controlled toy to trigger something.
