Yeah well, I once went to a GP thinking that I had cancer because it was what the internet said I had. He nearly got mad at me for bringing the internet up because, according to him, if every person who self-diagnosed their cancer actually had it, half the country would be on chemo by now. He proceeded to rant on how misinformed people on the internet are and after a check up told me that I had some unwarranted worries and everything was fine.

It was a testicular cancer anyway.

Remember that part when Microsoft announced that there will be free upgrades to windows 10 for everyone, even pirated copies, and then boom, the next day some "clarifications" about the legitimacy of these upgrades were released? Same thing here.
The engi will say whatever he wants, the final decision is taken by accounting/legal departments and, yeah, they *love* open source stuff...

I hear that, as of right now, posting one of the noodies of Jennifer Lawrence is an autoban ticket. As far as I know posting one without modifying it a little is impossible... Why? I know that you value the "organized anarchy" and self moderation of 4chan in general, and /b/ in particular, and I do understand the necessity of at least making sure that no CP is posted there (who am I kidding?) and I will not question that. But don't you think that the autoban on JLaw noodies might be the start of a trend? What will happen next when X decides to force your hand and ask for an autoban on his images too since, after all, JLaw already did it.

Maybe this is the point? Maybe it was accepted as a form of irony, of self-criticism? Maybe the editors realized that the process of filtering and reviewing submissions lost so much of it's quality that, in a wake-up call, /. editors decided to accept the crappiest of fake stories and front page it anyway. Maybe this story is supposed to be the epitome of what plagued /. for so long now... News that doesn't matter. News that's not for nerds.

Or maybe they'r just lazy fucks.

Am a bioengi and, a long time ago, I had to choose between what I will study in university, biology or mechanics... I chose biology because I wanted to have >fun tinkering with mechanical things... Looking at my biology/chemistry sets that I abandoned long ago, I think I made the right choice.
