What pisses me off is that the Intel drive suicided. OK, I can understand that they track writes and shut it down once confidence goes down. I get that. However, the drive should be read-only after that!

If I had a drive that still held my perfect, pristine data, but I could not actually get to it, I would be pissed. What is wrong with going into a read-only mode?

How often do we need to repeat this mantra to people?

At least I OWN this wallet!

I don't own this phone (and yes, I did pay for it and don't have a contract, but it can be switched off and the NSA can tap it willy nilly). You people want an e-wallet that can be shut off like your phone? Tapped like your phone?

What this is leading to is anybody politically undesirable will be shut out of the economy at the push of a button.

Fuck you technophiles

As a technophile who does not affect you in any way, shape or form (who also lives in another country than you), I would like to convey to you my heartfelt and emphatic "FUCK YOU TOO ASSHOLE".

Why do we need 800Gbps on a cellphone? Or even 100Gbps?

So I can download an app in 560 microseconds? I do not see the point. What possible use case is there for that much bandwidth, even if data caps went away (yeah right)..There is only so much you can do with a mobile device.

Does it matter if I download an HD movie in 30mS instead of 400mS? Or even if I download a 4k movie in a fraction of a second, its still kinda pointless.

Now I am fully aware that 640k is actually not enough memory for anybody, but come on guys, what sort of need would we really have for 800Gbps on a cellphone or tablet? There reaches a point where the returns diminish beyond human perception.

Why the "notsexist" and "!sexist" tags for this article?

I read the summary a couple of times ( yes, I really did! I dont care if you dont believe me ), and I am struggling to find any sexism or innuendo.

Whats the deal?

Is it because of the word "these", or the word "entirely" ?
Or is it because of the sentence "That's more than a third of the speed of light." ?

Its getting really hard to tell these days whats sexist and what isnt, so if somebody could shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have placed it in another room and run HDMI and USB cables, but the propagation delay caused horrible tearing and lag when playing games

The signals travel at the speed of light. How far away is your room?

I hate to be pedantic but....ahh fuck it, I LOVE to be pedantic....the propagation delay of signals in anything other than a vacuum is always a fraction of c. So the speed of the signals through a cable can be anything from 65% to >90% of light speed in a vacuum.

But at the end of the day, the propagation delay in the cable itself is still way way less than 1 microsecond, which is not perceptible in the slightest for a human. The electronics at either end of the cable are a whole different ballgame, and are the cause of perceptible lag and delays in a system.

Seriously, I want to find a new site to frequent that is worthy of a Slashdot replacement, because I too am completely sick of this downwards slide.

What a cynical, awful tag.

I would like to officially confirm that I am in no way interested in selling my 6+ for anything less than retail.

To get a Blackbury instead of my 6+, they would have to pay me significantly more than what I paid for my smartphone as its obviously a big downgrade.
