First 3D Broadcast on Cablevision->

Submitted by MarqueeMoon
MarqueeMoon writes "The first high-definition 3D television broadcast in the US will not come from Comcast or DirecTV but from Cablevision, who will premiere the format Mar. 24 with coverage of the Islanders vs. Rangers NHL game at Madison Square Garden. 3ality Digital will provide the 3D capturing equipment for the event, which will show on Cablevision’s channel 1300.

Unfortunately, only customers with 3D televisions, HD service from Cablevision, and specific 3D glasses will be able to watch the broadcast. But others may be able to view the 3D broadcast at a special viewing party hosted by The Theater Madison Square Garden."

Mathematician refuses $1M Millennium prize-> 2

Submitted by neutralino
neutralino writes "Grigory Perelman, the Russian mathematician whose proof of the Poincaré conjecture was recently awarded a Millennium Prize worth $1M has rejected the award. Previously he refused to accept the Fields medal in 2006 and "quit the world of mathematics in disgust four years ago" (he published the proof in a paper in 2002). He refuses to talk to the media and told a journalist who contacted him "You are disturbing me. I am picking mushrooms.""

Who in their right mind enjoys watching WOW more than hockey? Exactly. Even if you do enjoy watching WOW more than hockey, you certainly must play WOW. Hockey, as well as many other sports, have spectators who do not play the sport yet enjoy watching it. Out of all major professional sports, hockey players make the least and get the least recognition. Hockey players also endure brutal physical punishment. The worst injury a WOW player faces is maybe CTS. The comparison does not really hold.
