My name is Sam Trenholme. I wrote and still maintain MaraDNS, an open-source (BSD licensed) DNS server. I am a single-issue poster at Slashdot:
2002 called and they want their BIND-vs-djbdns flame war back. Things have changed a lot in the last decade with DNS servers: BIND has been rewritten and is much more secure than it was; my own MaraDNS came on the scene and is a good small DNS server; NSD and Unbound make a viable BIND replacement; PowerDNS has excellent database integration; and djbdns hasn't been updated since 2001 and, yes, it has security bugs.
